The Clinical Psychology Team at Beechwood, are committed to working with students, residents, families and staff to promote emotional and psychological well-being.
Psychologists are interested in understanding how people feel, think and behave. We can help our students and residents to learn new ways of managing emotions, thoughts and behaviours increasing their quality of life and fulfilling their individual potential.

The Psychologists at Beechwood are greatly experienced and specialise in working with clients with autistic spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and mental illness.

We focus on helping and supporting students and residents to develop coping stratgegies to manage their emotions and to increase their interpersonal skills and effectiveness.
We believe these are core skills that promote positive mental health, quality of life and increased independence.
Members of the Psychology team are involved in all students initial assessment meetings so that we can identify needs and how we can best help to build skills to fulfil individual student’s potential and meet their goals. Together we will agree on the help that may be needed and whether students would prefer to work with a member of the team individually and/or join some of the group programmes.
